Our Beloved Bond with Our Pets

If you’ve chosen to share your life with a dog, a cat, or any other companion animal, you know that it’s a very special commitment.  I’ve learned that we agree to be united with these loving beings before we incarnate, and in some cases, we’ve lived through many lifetimes together.  Whether we search for our animal companions, or they find us, we’re always meant to be together because we’re “soul family.”

Our pets are dependent on us for their needs, and in exchange they give us unconditional love.  They become not only our loyal companions, but also members of our family.  It’s no coincidence dog spelled backwards is God.  God planned it that way.

Since cat spelled backwards is “tac,” I guess God wasn’t as fond of cats.  LOL  So, I’ve chosen to make “TAC” an acronym for “Totally Affectionate Companion” because I’ve found that both dogs and cats can be equally as affectionate.  My very first cat was more than just a pet to me.  She was my “soul mate,” a kindred spirit with whom I shared an amazing bond of love.  She took half of my heart with her when she crossed over to the other side.

I didn’t start out as a “cat person,” but as I became fond of a friend’s cat and then unexpectedly ended up fostering baby kittens, I gradually fell in love with felines.  In 1997, I made the decision to adopt a kitten.  I chose an 8-week old, female, light gray tabby, and I named her Pookie.  She was a bit of a handful as a kitten, but as she got older, she turned into my “comfort kitty” who would gaze at me lovingly with her soulful, green eyes while she gently placed her paw on my cheek and softly meowed, “Maaa” which was her way of saying, “I love you, Mom.”  I loved her more than life itself.

I had been told indoor cats could live to be 20 years old, but sadly, Pookie only made it to 13.  In the spring of 2011, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer.  There was little that could be done, and it was hard to watch her deteriorate.  I decided that we would make it through Mother’s Day together, and I would take her to be euthanized the following day.  It was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life, but I didn’t want her to suffer.

That final night, I knew I wouldn’t get much sleep, if any, so I decided to curl up next to Pookie on the living room floor.  I was devastated when she found the energy to get up and move away from me.  Although Pookie was very weak from dehydration, I placed boxes around the bed just in case she tried to get under it which would prevent me from taking her to the vet.  Feeling depressed and exhausted, I went to bed with my cat, Baby, lying next to me, and I finally fell asleep.

I woke up around 4 a.m. and saw what I thought was Baby in the middle of the bed, but when I looked a little closer, I realized it was Pookie!  She knew this was our last night together, and her frail, little 5-pound body was no match for her determination to be next to me!  She mustered up every ounce of strength that she had to walk into the bedroom and climb up and over the boxes to get on the bed with me!  I couldn’t believe she'd been able to do that!  It was truly a testament to the power of love!

Since my mom had been able to show me signs from Heaven, I figured there was no reason Pookie couldn’t do it too.  So, before I took Pookie to the vet, I said aloud to her, “Pookie, the main number you’ll need to show me is “797” because that’s your month and year of birth.  When I see that, I’ll know it’s you letting me know you’re okay.” There was no doubt in my mind that she knew exactly what I was asking of her.

Four days after I said goodbye to Pookie, as I was on my way to work, a car drove past me with a license plate that had no letters and only the numbers “797” on it!  I knew immediately it was Pookie’s sign!  I happily said, “Pookie, it’s you!  Thank you!”  Then, a truck came alongside me, and I looked over to see a big picture of a leaping cat on the truck’s door, similar to the Puma logo.  I knew that was another sign from Pookie letting me know that she was moving up in the afterlife.  I cannot express the joy that was in my heart at that moment!

The reason I’m sharing this story with you is to let you know that your pet’s soul survives the death of their physical body and that the love you share never dies.  It remains within the collective consciousness of the universe, and it’s that love that keeps us connected.  It’s my hope that this knowledge will not only bring you comfort, but also will inspire you to be open to Heavenly signs from your beloved pet.

With love, light, and angel blessings,

A Mother's Love Never Dies

My mother passed away nearly 30 years ago, but her spirit and love have survived to this day.  You might wonder how I can be so sure of this.  It’s because I see “signs” from her on a regular basis.  They’re known as “signs from Heaven,” and they’re available to anyone willing to recognize them.

Once you’re open to believing in these signs and you acknowledge them, you’ll receive even more!  And eventually, you’ll receive signs on a consistent basis.  Although these signs have virtually become a part of my day-to-day existence, I’m still constantly amazed at how easily not only my mother, but also my father and even my beloved pets are able to connect with me!

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, then you know that renowned British medium, Lisa Williams, brought my mom through in 2008, and you also know that was a pivotal point in my spiritual awakening process.  However, I received my first “sign” from my mom in 2003 at a very low point in my life.  I was depressed, under a huge amount of stress, angry at the world, and unhappy with my life.  I had reached a point of emotional breakdown, and I yearned to have my mom there one more time to comfort me with her words of wisdom and a big hug.  I cried and told my mom out loud how much I missed her and how I wished she was there with me.

During this time, I was guided to watch a TV show called “Crossing Over.”  The show was hosted by another famous psychic medium named John Edward who would deliver messages to audience members from their loved ones.  I found great solace in watching the audience members receive comfort and closure.  One day, after one of the episodes, I decided to look at an old family photo album.  I was reminiscing about my childhood as I looked at photos of birthday parties and other wonderful times spent with my parents.  These memories made me feel better and also made me feel closer to my parents, especially my mom.

Something interesting happened when I reached over to put the album away.  A photo of my mom fell out of the album upright on the floor, and there she was smiling up at me!  I thought this is no coincidence!  After the initial shock wore off, I felt the warmth of her presence, and I was completely uplifted!  I knew it was my mom letting me know that she was there with me and that everything was going to be okay.  I decided to put her photo in a frame immediately to preserve the moment.

I chose to put her photo in a frame on top of a poem by Goethe which read:  “This is the true measure of love, when we believe that we alone can love, that no one could ever have loved so before us, and that no one will ever love in the same way after us.”  It was perfect!  The colors matched those in the photo, and it was all about love.  As I placed the photo under the first appearance of the word “love” and turned the frame over to move the closures into place, the photo slipped down to the next line.

As I was about to move the photo back to the line above, I was compelled to read it:  “This is the true measure of love, when we believe.”  It was like the word BELIEVE jumped out at me!  I got the chills, and I knew instantly it was my mom’s way of saying thank you for believing I’m still here and for knowing that I love you.  I started crying tears of joy knowing that I had a genuine connection with my mom.  She was spiritually giving me that big hug and comforting me.  This was a significant step on the road to my emotional recovery.  From that moment on, I knew I wasn’t alone, I felt empowered, and I was inspired to learn more about what I had experienced.

I started researching after-death communication, or ADC, which is when a deceased loved one makes direct and spontaneous contact without the use of a psychic medium.  One of the first books I came across was Hello From Heaven by Bill and Judy Guggenheim.  The Guggenheims are researchers who interviewed 2,000 people who had experienced ADCs, and their book contains many of those stories.  At the time of their studies in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, the Guggenheims estimated that approximately 60 million Americans had experienced ADCs.  This fascinating book started me on my quest for more answers about life after death.

I guess you could say that acknowledging my mom’s first “sign” was a baby step toward my “spiritual awakening.”  It was only after Lisa Williams validated my mom’s presence in 2008 that my mom really started to come through by leaps and bounds.  She started showing me her name, my childhood nickname, her birthdate, her city of birth, the word “mom,” butterflies, and she even visited me in a very vivid dream where she lovingly extended her hand to me and smiled her beautiful smile.  I’m so grateful for these wonderful signs that prove my mother is still with me and that her love is eternal.

Live Your Truth

To be happy in life, you must be true to who you really are.  You’re never going to please everybody.  You have to follow your own unique path, and if people don’t understand, it doesn’t matter.  It’s your journey, not theirs.  It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else but you.

By trying to conform to what others think you should do or say when it conflicts with what’s in your heart is only going to make you miserable.  Being honest about your passions and what brings you joy is the only way to freedom – and that freedom will allow your soul to fly!

Never apologize for who you are.  We all came into this life with different talents and abilities, and we're meant to put those skills to use.  When your gifts involve things of an unknown or inexplicable nature, it’s common for some people to react with fear.  They may even belittle or condemn you.  Don’t let that affect you.

In this time of spiritual awakening, I've found more like-minded people than not.  So, don’t be afraid to show your true self to the world because people who are open-minded, tolerant, and respectful will accept you as you are and won’t be judgmental.  You’re a child of God, and God is about peace and love, not fear.

For those of you who have always been intuitive and those who are newly developing your psychic gifts, let yourself shine!  It’s who you're meant to be!  Not everyone will understand, and that’s okay.  Don’t let society’s preconceived notions of what’s “acceptable” or “normal” dictate who you are.

In this golden age of enlightenment, many gifted children and young adults are here to help humanity evolve into a state of higher consciousness by literally bringing “light” to the truth of who we really are so we may achieve enlightenment.  These children and young adults are known as “indigo,” “crystal,” and “rainbow” souls, and they should be nurtured because they’re here to help us.

We all have a sixth sense – extrasensory perception or ESP – the ability to understand without the need for conscious reasoning.  That's where our intuition or "gut feelings" come from.  We all have varying degrees of the abilities to see, hear, know, and/or feel beyond the physical dimension we live in.  We have this sixth sense because that’s all we originally had prior to incarnating into human form.  Our souls “remember” this.  We were “lightbodies” able to see, hear, know, and feel without the need for human bodies, and it’s the form we will ultimately go back to as eternal souls.

If you’re connected to the spiritual realm, embrace it!  It’s a blessing!  You’re here to help others!  You were given the gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience, claircognizance, and/or clairsentience for a reason.  It’s part of your life purpose, and only when you accept that, will you be able to move forward with what you’re supposed to do here on Earth.

I’ve spoken with people who believe psychics and mediums work with the devil, and I respectfully disagree because I’ve received more comfort and guidance from psychics and mediums than I have from any therapist or counselor.  Not only have I been given the priceless gift of communicating with loved ones on the other side, but also the messages I've received from angels, ascended masters, and spirit guides have led me to a life purpose that helps others, especially children.  That can only be God at work.

Ever since I was a child, I was always fascinated by paranormal phenomena -- things beyond scientific explanation.  Because of this, when I was introduced to "signs from Heaven” and "angel numbers," I was able to fully immerse myself in metaphysics, the philosophical study of the nature of reality.  Since connecting with the spiritual realm on a consistent basis, I've gradually developed my sixth sense and have become closer to who I really am, and who all of us are … the embodiment of God's love and light.

It was clairaudience that allowed me to “channel” or “hear” the words from Archangel Michael that became the text for my first children’s book.  I don’t expect everyone to believe this, but I know it to be true.  I'm here to help people, especially children, to have faith and trust that our loved ones and angels watch over us, guide us, and love us.

The human (ego) part of me had some reluctance as to whether or not I should write this, but I was given a “sign” from the angels that I was fully supported when, after hours of working on this, the one and only time I happened to look at the word count, it stated “444!”  That’s an “angel number” that means “There are angels – they’re everywhere around you!  You are completely loved, supported, and guided by many Heavenly beings, and you have nothing to fear.”  It couldn’t have been a more appropriate message and also a clear validation of my life purpose.

With love, light, and angel blessings,
